A Bon Monastery has been built in Baragung Muktichhetra (near Jomsom and Kagbeni)- 04 Pakling. Various donors and the Mustang Cultural and Educational Center supported the construction. This Bon monastery has been named Semten Thagyaling, which serves as a monastery, and at the same time a spiritual Study Center. The monastery looks dazzling while traveling from Jomsom to Kagbeni, Muktinath, and Upper Mustang.
Take the left and follow the Dolpo road to reach the Gompa.
The Samten Thagyaling Bon Monastery was inaugurated on September 18, 2024, and performed Pran Pratisthan (ritual before the official opening). The 34th Menari Mathadhis respected Lungtok Dhawa Dhagryal Rinpoche and respected Menari Ponlov Thinle Ngima Rinpoche, the main Lama of the monastery- Khenpo Chuldim Tenzing Rinpoche, and Gese Sonam, the president of Mustang Cultural and Educational Center, along with numerous Buddhist Lamas, and locals were there in the ceremony.

An Attraction for Jomsom Muktinath and Upper Mustang Lomanthang Tour
While traveling along the Kali Gandaki corridor on the Jomsom Muktinath and Upper Mustang Lomanthang Highway, the Semten Thagyaling Bon Monastery offers a wonderful attraction, which serves as a side trip. There are a few Bon Monasteries in Nepal, and this monastery will preserve and attract Bon believers in their cultural path.
The monastery is located at the top of a cliff across the Kali Gandaki River, which remains an iconic attraction. From there, one can enjoy the gigantic views of the Annapurna Himalayas, scenic Kali Gandaki River Valley, and the surroundings. This is also a gateway to Dolpo by motor road, which will welcome the Dolpo Jeep Tour in some years.
