Upper Mustang Lomanthang with Jomsom Muktinath Jeep Tour is an epic adventure jeep tour in Nepal for adventure and nature lovers. It connects Annapurna and Mustang regions in the North-Western part of Nepal. The Upper Mustang region is a restricted region and Lomanthang is its capital. It is a cultural paradise with medieval civilizations, monasteries, chhortens, and caves. Muktinath is located in the lower Mustang region, which is a globally renowned Hindu pilgrimage destination.

The tour begins from Kathmandu or if you have booked this tour from Pokhara, it begins from Pokhara and takes you through the picturesque highway. A bit challenging road begins from Beni and it passes via Tatopani (where a natural hot spring is found) and Rupse waterfalls (more than 300 meters). Driving through the deepest gorge of the world- the Kali Gandaki gorge, you enter the Mustang region. The arid landscape of the Mustang region is equally fascinating by the Himalayan views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Exploring the apple orchards of Tukuche and Marpha, you will enjoy the dramatic scenery of Jomsom. The magnificent view of Kagbeni will definitely allure you.

The journey to the restricted region begins once you begin to drive from Kagbeni. It is a different world with medieval civilizations, culture, monasteries, and Chhortens. Lomanthang is its capital, which is a stone-walled town. The monasteries around are culturally vibrant, belonging to the Tibetan Buddhist devotees. If you are there at the festival time, you can enjoy the Tiji festival in Lomanthang.

While returning, the tour takes you to the Muktinath temple, which is a globally renowned Hindu pilgrimage destination. It is located at the base of the Annapurna Himalayas, where you will meet the trekkers on the route of Annapurna Circuit Trek.

Best time/season for Upper Mustang Jeep Tour

If you see the best time/seasons for a Nepal tour, spring (March-April-May) and Autumn (September-October-November) are great for exploring Nepal. However, unlike these months, Upper Mustang also welcomes you in mid-monsoon. This is because, the Mustang region is located beyond the Himalayas, which is known as a Himalayan rainshadow area. Welcome to Mustang-all the season (except mid-winter (January-Feb), which will be fully snowy).

      Best Trip with Team Kameleon

In October, we did a wonderful jeep tour in Nepal with my family. The entire tour was 11 days with team Kameleon. Mr. Ramesh was our guide. We were respectively treated, and given good information about the culture, and nature, along with the high altitude preparations. The most beautiful points were Lo Manthang, Jhong Cave, and Muktinath temple. How beautiful are the places, so nice. We highly recommend this agency.
