    Manang is one of the villages in Manang district. There are other impressive towns like Pisang, Chame, Bharaka, and many more. The Manang village is located at 3540 meters (11,614 feet) above sea level. It's close to the Himalayas like Annapurna and Gangapurna.

    Manang is one of the high-altitude settlements in the Annapurna region, bound up by the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), which is the oldest and largest conservation area in Nepal. It covers an area of 7,629 sq. km. and is home to over 100,000 residents of different cultural and linguistic groups. ACAP is rich in biodiversity and is a treasure house for 1,226 species of flowering plants, 105 mammals, 518 birds, 40 reptiles, and 23 amphibians.

    Annapurna Conservation Area is bordered by the Marshyangdi River on its northeast border and the Kali Gandaki River on the northwest. All the trekking and tours in the Annapurna region fall in this area, so you must obtain permits.
