Welcome to Nepal Guru Rinpoche Tour. ‘Om Ah Hung Vajra Guru Pema Siddhi Hum’
At the end of November, Nepal Kameleon Holidays organized an exclusive tour to the Guru Rinpoche meditation caves for Indonesian and Taiwanese travelers.
It was purely a trip following the path of Guru Rinpoche, which is known as the Vajrayana Buddhist Tour.
Overview
The tour kicks off from Kathmandu after arrival. Kathmandu has some UNESCO-listed world heritage sites, including renowned Buddhist pilgrimage destinations- Swayambhunath and Boudhanath.

The tour mainly covers the renowned destination, where Padmasambhava meditated and received enlightenment and immortality. Also, in some places, he slayed demons and established peace and prosperity. Guru Rinpoche has traveled to Nepal and Tibet, where Tibetan Buddhism began. Here are the major sites that this tour covers, except Boudhanath and Swayambhunath.

The tour follows the path of Guru Rinpoche, and the travelers will be meditating in the caves.

You will get Typical Nepali food/Chinese, and continental food on the tour. But on the Chumik Changchup and Maratika Cave route, you will get only Nepali food.
Transportation
Transportation depends on the group size, but at some sites, like Yarinal Cave and Maratika Cave, we recommend that you take a 4WD Jeep. Other places, you can choose a private car, jeep, hiace, bus, or minibus.
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel.
Based on your time of arrival, we will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. A half-day program will be organized if you arrive early in the day.
Day 02: Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, and Pashupatinath (Naropa and Tilopa Cave) Sightseeing.
After breakfast, kick off on the sightseeing tour. First, you visit the Tilopa and Naropa Cave, located at the premises of the Pashupatinath Temple. Then visit one of the most popular pilgrimage sites- Boudhanath. Swayambhunath is another Buddhist site of the UNESCO-listed world heritage site.
Day 03: Asura and Yanglesho Cave Tour in Pharping.
Pharping is the home of the Guru Rinpoche caves. You will have several attractions like Asura Cave, Yanglesho Cave, Guru Rinpoche statue (118 feet), and Dakshinkali Temple (a Hindu temple).
Day 04: Drive to Yarinak Cave and Overnight at Mulkot.
Driving from Kathmandu to the Yarinak cave is about 3 hours from Kathmandu. Yarinak cave is located on a giant hanging cliff, symbolizing the spirituality, where Guru Rinpoche took the form of Dyuki Sechen (Demon Slayer). Then you drive back to the highway and drive further to Mulkot, which is another 3 hours.

Day 05: Drive Mulkot to Maratika Cave.
This is a picturesque drive through the countryside. Although the road is narrow, the scenery is spectacular. First, you will be following the Koshi River, cross a bridge, and then cross another bridge, and finally catch the road towards the Maratika Cave. The driving time is approximately 5 hours.
Day 06: Explore around Maratika Cave, Manjushree Cave, Naga Cave, and Tuwachung Hill.
This is a beautiful day, filled with meditation and cave exploration. In the morning, meditate in the Upper and Lower Maratika Caves in Halesi. They are significant caves for meditation as Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) attained immortality along with his consort Mandarava. There are other caves nearby, like Manjushree Cave; and Naga Cave. The nearby hill, known as Tuwachung, is the original place of the Kirant people, whose forefathers Hetchhakuppa and Raichhakule appeared along with Tiyama and Khiyama.

Day 07: Drive back to Dhulikhel.
It takes about 7 hours to reach Dhulikhel from Maratika Cave- Halesi. Dhulikhel is purely a nature and exploring the Himalayas, if the weather allows. It is a suitable location for the next day's activity.
Day 08: Visit Namobuddha and drive back to Kathmandu.
Good morning views of the Himalayas greet you early. After breakfast, visit the Namo Buddha Monastery, which is linked with the reincarnation of Lord Buddha. Then drive back to Kathmandu and rest during the afternoon.
Day 09: Sankhu Vajrayogini and Milarepa Cave with Flying Vajrayogini Patan.

Day 10: Chumik Changchup Day Tour.
Welcome to Chumik Changchup day tour. It is also known as the Spring of Enlightenment. It takes about 3 hours to drive there from Kathmandu and 1km hike through the dense woods, but there is a proper hiking route. The location is mesmerizing as prayer flags prevail the surroundings. The best viewpoint of Daman is the most delightful lunch stop.

Day 11: Departure.
