    Beginning the Annapurna Circuit Trekking from the lower Annapurna region, it leads you up and down to the heart of the Manang district and its major highlights.     The best season/time for the Annapurna Circuit Trek

    Annapurna Circuit Trek is a high-altitude trek that includes the highest Himalayan pass in the world- Thorong La Pass (5416 meters). It's better to grab the best trekking seasons for a successful adventure. 

    Spring (March-April-May) is one of the best trekking seasons. The entire trekking route includes diverse wildflowers like rhododendrons and other bushy flowers that can be seen as magnificent. The Himalayan views will be clear in these months, days will be warmer and more interesting. 

    Autumn (September-October-November) Autumn is regarded as the best trekking season in Nepal. The season starts in mid-September. October is the best month in terms of temperature of day and night. We can imagine cloudless and sunny days that allow trekkers fine days to explore the impressive Himalayan views. Till November, the alpine terrain looks dramatic without snow, which is great for walking. 

    December will be a bit chilling, however, if you want an isolated route and more dramatic Himalayan views with the preparation of warm outfits, December is the finest month. 

    Accommodation in Annapurna Circuit Trek

    Annapurna Circuit Trek once was known as camping trekking, however, it's a tea house/lodge-based trekking nowadays. Hotels/lodges have neat and cozy rooms with warm dining halls. In case you feel comfortable in your sleeping bags, you take it along, otherwise, the beds are clean. Hotels and lodges also have hot shower facilities, for which they may charge extra. 

    In recent days, there have been hotels with attached bathrooms, which has made trekking on the Annapurna Circuit Route far more comfortable. The central heating in the dining hall relieves you of the high altitude. 

     

    Food availability in Annapurna Circuit Trek

    The food menu is richly loaded in the Annapurna region trekking route. Typical Nepali food, Indian, Chinese, and continental food menus are available throughout the trekking route.

    • - Thukpa

    Note: the food may not taste as you will have in your country. Among them, Dal Bhat keeps your belly good.

    High altitude sickness in Annapurna Circuit Trek

    High altitude sickness doesn't come all of a sudden, rather you will get the symptoms gradually. The ultimate height of this trek is 5416 meters, which is high enough to create a challenge for you, especially with High Altitude Sickness due to the thin air region.  

    Symptoms

    • Dizziness
    • Insomnia
    • Vomit
    • Dehydration
    • Fever

     

    However, there are some preplan for high altitude sickness in case it might happen. Here are some tips:

    • Drink plenty of water
    • Drink tea/coffee frequently
    • Ginger and garlic are good for your health in high-altitude
    • If you feel any symptoms like insomnia, dizziness, vomiting, lack of hunger, and others, you need to take a rest
    • If you need any medicine, you must bring it on your own as it needs to be advised by the doctor

    Itinerary

    • Day 01

      Arrival at Kathmandu (1350 meters) and transfer to hotel.

      Namaste and welcome to Nepal. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, the Nepal Kameleon Holidays representative receives and transfers you to the hotel. After a short refreshment, we briefly explain to you about the sightseeing trip and the preparation for the trek. Overnight at hotel. (A)  

    • Day 02

      Drive to Bagarchhap (2200m).

      After breakfast in Kathmandu, begin to drive to Besisahar, the district center of Lamjung. Exploring the scenery of the Prithvi Highway, Trishuli river valley, and Marshyangdi river valley, drive further to Bhulbhule. The route of Annapurna Round follows the bank of the Marshyangdi River valley. On the way, numerous still bridges lie, which connect the two sides of the landscape and villages. Passing the Ghermu Phant, an open and wide area, we drive further to Bagarchhap. After a long drive, we take a rest. Overnight at lodge. 

    • Day 03

      Trek from Bagarchhap to Chame (2710m).

      From Bagarchhap, the trek begins after breakfast that goes through the terraced hillside and the rock-dominated trail. It crosses the Timang village and Kopar after the gradual walk all the way. Chame is an easy walk from there, which is the district headquarter of the Manang district. It is also popular for the Himalayan views. Overnight at lodge. 

    • Day 04

      Trek from Chame to Pisang (3300 meters).

      From the district center of Manang, begin to walk after breakfast. The trail is easy today relatively. Crossing various bridges and walking through the thick forest, reach the Pisang village and the surprise comes with the dazzling Himalayan white peaks. Overnight at lodge. 

    • Day 05

      Trek from Pisang to Manang (3540 meters).

      After breakfast, the trek begins through the arid region of Manang. A unique experience of walking through the Tibetan Buddhist ethnic communities, Himalayan lifestyles, and the superb Himalayan views entice you to march ahead being fully excited. Passing Ghyaru and Braga Manang, you reach Manang village. Overnight at lodge. 

    • Day 06

      Rest day at Manang.

      Manang is the best place for acclimation rest. On the one hand, you can explore the Tibetan Buddhist heritage sites such as monasteries and chhortens. On the other, hiking towards Gangapurna Lake offers you an overlook of the different sites in the mountain. Overnight at lodge. 

    • Day 07

      Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka (4018 meters).

      After an acclimation day, the walk becomes gradual and easy to deal with the thin-air region. After breakfast, climb up through the Jarshang Khola valley and walk continually to Yak Kharka. It becomes lunchtime. If you prefer, you walk to Ledar and take a rest. Overnight at lodge. 

    • Day 08

      Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4450 meters).

      It’s a short walk from Yak Kharka, passing through the rocky landscape and the trail dotted by the meadows. Passing Ledar, climb down to the River and walk up gradually to Phedi. Reaching early, you will get time for an acclimation hike around. Overnight at lodge. 

    • Day 09

      Trek from Phedi to Muktinath (3800m) via Thorong La (5416 meters).

      The real challenge begins after breakfast at Thorong Phedi. The gradual walk through the steep ascent embarks, which are formed on a rocky slope. The highest Himalayan pass in the world, Thorong La is also an outstanding view of the Annapurna range, Manaslu, Chulu peak, and others. Another section of the pass is steep downhill, all the way to the Muktinath, which is a significant Hindu and Buddhist site in Nepal. Overnight at lodge. 

    • Day 10

      Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2760 meters).

      Walking from the sacred pilgrimage destination Muktinath after breakfast, it goes through Jharkot and Lupra. Joining the trail via Kali Gandaki River, it's a way to walk through its bank, which is dusty enough to bother you. It's better to begin early for this reason. Reach to Jomsom and take a rest. Overnight at lodge. 

    • Day 11

      Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara and Pokhara city sightseeing.

      From the midpoint of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massif, we take a good morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. Then transfer to the hotel. After a short rest, we go sightseeing in Pokhara city. You can visit Mahendra cave, David falls, and explore Seti gorge and others. Enjoying boating on Phewa Lake is a rewarding option. Back to the hotel and rest. Overnight at hotel. (B, A)

    • Day 12

      Drive/fly back to Kathmandu.

      From Pokhara, we drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel. As an option of driving, there is half an hour flight to Kathmandu. Driving takes about 6 hours. Stay relaxed in the evening or walk around the local place. Overnight at hotel. (B,A)

    • Day 13

      Departure.

      It's time to bid farewell. A Representative of Nepal Kameleon Holidays drops you to the airport for your final departure. We hope to serve you time and again. (B)
