Upper Pisang
Ngawal Valley
The Ngawal valley is located at 3660-meter-altitude above sea level, which is a spectacular Himalayan town in the Manang territory. Against the backdrop of the valley, the breathtaking views of Annapurna II, III, IV, and Pisang Peak are visible. Ngawal Valley has several spiritually significant sites, including Portoche Monastery and Guru Rinpoche Cave. Still untouched and pristine, Ngawal boasts ancient culture, quiet surroundings, and traditional Nyeshyangba architecture.
Braka Gompa
Located 3 km away from Manang, this beautiful and antique monastery dates back 600-700 years. Located on the mountain slope, this monastery has a huge collection of numerous Buddha statues made of clay. The monastery follows the Kagyu lineage and has holy texts inside. This is a masterpiece for the Tibetan Buddhist devotees. The busiest time to visit this monastery is the Nyung Ne Fasting in April.

Manang and Praken Gompa
Manang is a beautiful Himalayan town at an altitude of 3500 meters. It's a bustling settlement due to the choice of trekkers and travelers to stay at this altitude for 2 nights in order to get acclimatized. There are different types of hotels, restaurants, shops, etc.
While staying at Manang, you will get an opportunity to explore the surroundings like Gangapurna Lake, Praken Gompa (aka 100 Lama), and stupas nearby. The Himalayan views are so close to Manang anf the sunset view is just mesmerizing.

Itinerary
Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu/Pokhara to Dharapani.
Day 02: Drive from Dharapani to Upper Pisang, explore the monastery at the top.
Day 03: Upper Pisang to Ngawal- explore Guru Rinpoche Cave.
Day 04: Drive to Braka, explore Milarepa Cave.
Day 05: Explore Braka Gompa and drive to Manang. Explore Praken Gompa and the surroundings.
Day 06: Drive back to Besisahar.
Day 07: Drive back to Kathmandu/Pokhara.
High Altitude and Acclimatization
The ultimate altitude of this trip is 4200 meters, which is the premises of the Milarepa Cave Manang. However, Manang itself is located at 3500 meters, which is not so tough to acclimatize. But you need to be aware while hiking towards the Milarepa cave, as you still need to walk beside the road.

Food and Accommodation
The Manang section of the Annapurna circuit region is loaded with common lodges to the luxury hotels, from dormitory rooms to the attached rooms. It depends on how you would like to travel and eat. There are restaurants in all the hotels, which they call dining halls locally. The best meal is typical Dal Bhat (rice, lentil, curry, pickle). However, they serve Nepali, Indian, Chinese and continental meals.
