    Chumik Jhangchup

    Yarinak Cave 

    Yarinak Cave is the Guru Rinpoche pilgrimage cave in Temal, Kavre district. It is located around an 80 km drive east of Kathmandu. Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) is worshipped for the heroic deeds that he performed to remove the enemies of Dharma and protect the land. He meditated in the Vajra Mudra, and burnt down the forest with the Kila-dagger's impact, turned the demons into dust, and created a pond. After the demons were destroyed, the whole forest became green again, and there was happiness again among the living beings.

    Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha

    Lo Gekar Monastery (Ghar Gompa) 

    Lo Gekar Monastery, aka Ghar Gompa, is the oldest monastery in the world. It was built in the 8th century after the arrival of Guru Rinpoche-Padmasambhava. It is believed that the monastery was built over the body of the lady demon, who caused the trouble to build the Samye Monastery of Tibet.

    Chöd (Tibetan: གཅོད,) is a spiritual practice found primarily in the Yundrung Bön tradition as well as in the Nyingma and Kagyu schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

    The Tibetan word “chöd” means “to cut off” or “to slay.” The founder of this practice is the great Tibetan yogini Machig Labdron. The practice follows a prompt and effective Tantric way to the path of realization, awakening, and enlightenment.
