About Trip

Annapurna Circuit Trek is an epic journey in the Himalayas of the Annapurna region. It is similarly popular as Round Annapurna Trekking or Annapurna Thorong Pass Trekking. The grand excursion begins from the Marshyangdi River valley that continually leads you to the highest Himalayan pass in the world- Thorong La Pass (5416 meters), which is technical enough to cross. Annapurna circuit trekking connects with the Mustang region that includes the significant pilgrimage destination of Hindus and Buddhists- Muktinath.

Besisahar is the gateway of the Round Annapurna trek, however, with the road extension; you can begin the trek from Chame. It is the district center of Manang. This district is dominated by the Tibetan influenced communities. The cascading waterfalls and greeneries of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) entice you to adore the god gifted nature. Trek over the Thorong Pass requires acclimatization, for which Manang is the most suitable place. The side trip to Gangapurna Lake offers a unique experience. The most challenging part of the trip begins with a climbing through the steep trail of Thorong pass. It’s a long walk to do, so the journey begins early in the morning. Once you reach at the top through the undulating trail, the incredible Himalayan panoramas catch your breath. They include Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Manaslu range.

Beyond the Annapurna region, once you climb down from the Thorong La Pass, walking through the arid part of the Kali Gandaki valley begins. En route, Nepal Kameleon Holidays takes you to visit the Muktinath temple, which is one of the significant pilgrimage destinations in Hinduism. It is believed that you can was away your sins of a lifetime. Below it, the ancient Kagbeni lies, that is the gateway of Upper Mustang. The trail goes through the dusty Kaligandaki River valley.
