Visit Lumbini Year 2019-2020 (2076): Mission 2 Million Tourists

Government of Nepal, State no 5 is going to celebrate the year 2076 (2019-2020) as a Visit Lumbini year with an aim of welcoming 2 million tourists. To develop the tourism in the sacred birth place of Lord Buddha and to promote Visit Nepal Year 2020, the state government had announced to celebrate the Visit Lumbini Year 2076 in its policy making level. As the mission has been approved, various preparations have been started.

Know about Lumbini

Visiting the birthplace of Lord Buddha, you can do Lumbini sightseeing tour. Historical palace, garden, monasteries and other sceneries attract you. Many historically significant materials are kept in the museum. You can spend time with yoga and meditation around Lumbini premises and feel the healing in this historical site.

Visit Lumbini Year (2019-2020) will cover up some of the local surroundings, including Tilaurakot, Gotihawa, Kudan, Nilighawa, Devdaha, Ramagram, Arourakot, Sisahaniya and other places.

Various programs and entertainment events will be organized during the campaign. Different assemblies, Worshipping, Publicity of Lumbini and Lord Buddha, Sanitation and Beautification, sports, literature festival, cultural events, International Buddhist Philosophy and other events will be organized. The program will be organized in the beginning month of the year 2076 (Mid of April 2019).
