Itinerary of Annapurna Poon Hill Trek

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and Transfer to hotel.

Welcome to Nepal. The representative of Nepal Kameleon Holidays receives you at the airport and transfers you to the hotel. Getting a brief description about the following day itinerary, you can rest at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara by tourist bus (6 hours).

From Kathmandu, drive to Pokhara through the Prithvi highway, enjoying the views during the driving. Normally, it's about 6 hours, but due to traffic, sometimes it may take 7-8 hours. Then transfer to the hotel at lakeside. It is a beautiful tourist town in western Nepal. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 03: Drive to Nayapul and then trek to Tikhedhunga (1577m).

After the breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Nay which is about one hour trip via Naudanda and kande. The trek begins and after about 30 minutes, there are check in counters. Walking through the Annapurna conservation area that leads through the terraced hillside, we pass Hile and reach to Tikhedhunga. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani (2750m).

Having breakfast at Tikhedhunga, the second day's trek begins after crossing the suspension bridge and begin the nose touching steep uphill climb through the stone staircase to Ulleri and Banthanti. The trek then goes through the shadow of the rhododendron forest along with the waterfall view. Ghorepani is located between the rhododendron forest at the base of Poon Hill, which is a Magar populated village. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 05: Hike to Poon Hill (3200m) and trek to Tadapani.

The early morning hike through the stone staircase, we reach to Poon Hill after 40 minutes steep walk. Poon Hill, located at 3210 meters, is an outstanding Himalayan view point of the breathtaking Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan range along with the enticing sunrise over the peaks. Then we trek down and have a breakfast. Another uphill climb begins after that and walk through up down trail via Deurali, Banthanti and a steep climb to Tadapani. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 06: Trek to Ghandruk (1940m).

It is a steep downhill walk from Tadapani all the way through the rhododendron forest. The trail is a stone staircase. Stop for the tea break at Bhaisi Kharka, trek down all the way to the picturesque Gurung village of Ghandruk, which is an opportunity to explore the folk culture and Gurung heritages at the museum. Enjoy the Gurung hospitality in Ghandruk. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 07: Trek to Birethanti (1025m) and then drive back to Pokhara.

Beginning to trek down through the terraced hillside trail, the trail leads to Khimche. Then,  descend through the picturesque countryside that gradually leads us to the exit point of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) at Nayapul Birethanti. Then we drive further to the touristy town of Pokhara, which is surrounded by the Lakes and other natural wonders. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 08: Drive back to Kathmandu.

It’s a continual 6-7 hours drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu with lunch stops. The winding road and the Riverside valleys are wonderful. Arriving Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel and rest. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 09: Departure.
