Tentative Itinerary of the Epic EBC Trek From the Day of Arrival

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival (1350m).

Welcome to Nepal. The representative of Nepal Kameleon Holidays receives you at the airport and transfers you to the hotel. Getting a brief description about the following day itinerary, you can rest at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing and trek preparation.

Kathmandu is a city of temples and Stupas. It has got numerous UNESCO listed world heritage sites dating back to the mediaeval period. The Hindu temple Pashupatinath, Boudhanath Stupa and Swayambhuanth Stupa are the major highlighting places for a day sightseeing tour. Managing another day, you can cover other destinations. Then back to the hotel and rest. Overnight at lodge.  

 

Day 03: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2652m).

From hotel, transfer to the airport and fly to Lukla, the Himalayan airport of Nepal. The trek begins from here, passing through the Sherpa communities and the fields. Heading further, cross the bridge and reach to Phakding. The first day trek ends here. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m).

From Phakding, the uphill trail takes you through Manju and Jorsalle that enters into the Sagarmatha National Park. It is a home of various flora and fauna that has maintained the diversity in Khumbu. Walking uphill gradually, you reach to Namche Bazaar, which is also known as the capital of Khumbu that is densely populated. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 05: Rest and acclimatization.

The alpine altitude requires acclimatization for the trekkers for the wonderful trip by avoiding AMS. This day is for the exploration of the surrounding places, Sherpa communities, schools and hospitals along with the viewpoint that offers dramatic views of the Everest region, including the highest peak in the earth. Then back to the lodge. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860m).

After the breakfast at Namche Bazaar, begin the journey taking the uphill trail via Kyangjuma. The hill ridge offers an amusing view of the Namche bazaar itself. The trail becomes gentle and the dramatic Himalayan scenery of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and others begin to come closer at your eyes. Then it descends to the river side and passing Phunki Tenga, walk continually to Tengbuche. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m).

The Tengboche monastery is the spiritual center in the Khumbu region. It is a highlight during the Mani Rimdu festival. Also the highest located monastery in Everest, it bears centuries old artistic pleasant. The journey begins from Tengbuche after the breakfast and passes through Debuche and Syomare. Following the Imja River valley, reach to Dingbuche and rest. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 08: Acclimatization at Dingboche.

The altitude has gone into the thin air region over 4000 meters. Acclimatization is essential for the confident trip. On this day, a side trip is recommended towards the Chhukung, which is a gateway to Island peak base camp. The alpine fields of barley and buckwheat look wonderful. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 09: Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m).

Beginning the trek from Dingbuche after the breakfast, you cross the grazing meadow and a bit ahead, there lies a memorial of the Everest climbers who passes away. Exploring the stunning views of Pumori, Cholatse and Khumbu glacier, reach to Lobuche via Thukla Pass. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5364m) via Gorekshep (5181m).

This is a long day to walk. From Lobuche, walk  through the Lobuche Pass that crosses over 5000 meters. Reaching Gorakshep, have a breakfast and carry a day pack to hike to the Everest base camp. This is a wonderful hike to explore Mt. Everest (8848 meters) from a closer distance. Then back to Gorakshep. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 11: Hike to Kalapatthar (5545m), descend to Gorakshep - Pheriche (4210m).

The early morning call makes you get up and prepare to climb towards the Kalapatthar. It is a viewpoint for the beautiful snowy peaks of the Everest region, including Mt. Everest, Lhotse face, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Taboche, Cholatse and others. The sunrise view over those peaks are incredibly exclusive. Then back to Gorakshep and have a breakfast. It's a continual downhill walk to Pheriche and rest. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 12: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar.

After the breakfast at Pheriche, it's a gradual downhill through the spiritually loaded communities. Walking down via Syomare, Tengbuche and Phunki Tenga, reach to Namche. If you like, you can stay at Kyangjuma, but it will be longer walk tomorrow. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Lukla.

Heading from Namche, it’s a continual downhill till Phakding. Passing Jorsalle and crossing numerous bridges around Manju, the rest trail is gradual and gentle. Being away with the sound of the Dudhkoshi River, you reach to Lukla. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu.

From Lukla, take an early morning flight to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel. Saving a lifetime memory in the Everest region, the rest day is for your personal use. You may go out for shopping and others. Overnight at lodge.


Day 15: Farewell.
